Insulating glass is a deep-processed product of glass that consists of two or more pieces of flat glass, separated by a spacer frame and sealed with a sealant, so that a dry gas space is formed between the glass layers. It should be reminded that the edge of the hollow glass is strictly sealed with sealant. The inner cavity of the hollow glass is filled with dry air or inert gas. This part of the gas is sealed in the cavity for a long time and cannot be convective with the outside air. Therefore, The heat on both sides of the hollow glass will not take away heat due to the convection of the gas between the glass.

Insulating glass is a combination of two or more pieces of glass. The space between the glass and the glass is isolated from the outside by a sealant, and the inside is air or other special gases. Insulating glass has excellent thermal and sound insulation properties and is much lighter than brick walls or concrete walls. For the requirements of building energy-saving, insulating glass is widely used for its irreplaceable superior performance. The common performance characteristics of double-layer glass and hollow glass: good heat insulation, sound insulation, heat preservation, anti-condensation, reduction of cold radiation and safety performance, energy-saving, etc. are the first choice for energy-saving glass.

Insulating glass has the functions of heat preservation, energy-saving, sound insulation, and anti-frost. Even if the outdoor temperature is below -30℃, while the indoor temperature reaches 18℃, and the relative humidity reaches above 85%, there will be no frost in the interlayer which will affect the sight and lighting. There is an essential difference between ordinary double-layer glass and insulating glass. The biggest difference is that the periphery of ordinary double-layer glass is not sealed, which will cause the air in the interlayer to have a certain humidity and convection with the outside air (indoor and outdoor). Convection between indoor and outdoor air and the air in the glass interlayer will cause condensation and frost, which will affect the line of sight and lighting. When the temperature rises and the frost on the inner surface of the glass turn into water, water will accumulate in the lower part of the interlayer.

Second, the suspended particles and dust in the air are inevitably brought into the interlayer and adhered to the inner surface of the glass during the convection inside and outside the interlayer, which will contaminate the inner surface of the glass interlayer over time and make cleaning difficult.
